Fees and Payment Procedures

We offer specialized services related to separation and divorce. Usually, we require deposits in advance so there is no confusion or conflict that interferes with treatment.

Mediation and collaborative coaching are forensic services and may not be billed to insurance; co-parent counseling may qualify for reimbursement; family and individual psychotherapy usually does qualify.

We do not accept direct payment from insurance companies or handle insurance billing for clients. The client should contact their insurance company for information on reimbursement. We will send you monthly statements with diagnostic and procedure codes for insurance reimbursement, if appropriate.

For ongoing work, payment is made before a session begins with a valid credit card. We accept most major credit cards. The client will usually be charged for appointments not cancelled within 48 business day hours (i.e. cancelling a Monday appointment on Friday is not sufficient notice).

Online Services

In many cases, we can provide services from a HIPPA-compliant Zoom platform that secures confidentiality.

Office Location

Our offices are located two blocks from the beach and near cafes, a library, and the Santa Monica Pier. There are a variety of family-friendly activities nearby.

Address: 2510 Main Street, Suite 201, Santa Monica Ca 90405. Phone 310-392-6163.

Disabled Access

Although we have had disabled clients, please note that our offices are on the second floor of a building that does not have an elevator. There are disabled bathrooms on the first floor.

Setting up an Appointment

Interested parties can contact us by email (see contact information) or by phone at 310-392-6163 to check our availability.

In most cases we can set up a brief telephone consultation at no charge to see if we are a good 'fit' for you and your situation, usually about fifteen minutes.

If you are looking for mediation or coparent counseling, we will need both parties to contact us to indicate interest in proceeding and we will set up a brief telephone consultation with both of you together to answer questions and to inform you about how we work, what our rates are, and what are our expectations for agreements and appointments.

Usually, we schedule two hours for the initial session and then decide how long and how often to meet thereafter.

For mediation, we will need a copy of any relevant court orders and the names and contact information for your attorneys, if any.
