Child Interviews

In rare instances, the court may request that an older child be interviewed by a mental health professional. We will conduct such interviews by request.

The usual purpose of such an interview is to obtain information from the child about their views of family life and their preferences for living arrangements. At the beginning of the interview, we explain to the child the purposes and uses of the interview. After the interview, we report to the court in written form and can be available for testimony.
